Quilter's Forum-Kaye Evans

Kaye Evans taught us how to make "fractured round robin quilts" for this months forum.  Kaye came from Ogden to share her techniques and show some of her completed quilts.  She took us through the process step by step.  The pictures below show some of the steps and the beautiful, intriguing final result.  Very informative and interesting.  Thank you, Kaye!

May Forum-Pat Peters

This beautiful "Birds and Roses" quilt by Pat Peters was the focus for our Forum in May.  She made it from Margaret Docherty's book by the same name (Pictured below).  Pat's quilt won best of show at the last state festival. Pat shared many of her secrets and her applique and hand quilting method.  Unfortunately, the pictures do not even begin to do this quilt justice.  Click on the photos to see them closer.  Thank you Pat for bringing your lovely quilt and for sharing your ideas.

Carmen Geddes-Quilter's Forum

This month at Quilter's Forum Carmen Geddes shared a method she is passionate about call Quiltsmart. It is piecework using fusible interfacing as a foundation. It was fun to see the many patterns available and learn from Carmen. She wants to have a whole room of quilts one day and feels that Quiltsmart helps her get complicated and traditional patterns done quickly and precisely. You can learn more about it here.

Cathedral Windows-May Forum

Sylvia Lewis taught us to make the Cathedral Window block at Quilter's Forum this month. We all made a Cathedral Window pincushion (pictured above with Sylvia). She also brought some Cathedral Window projects she has completed through the years. Thank you Sylvia for being so generous with your time, talents and supplies. This was a very fun hands-on forum.

April Quilter's Forum

Bonnie Miles and Wendy Liddle provided a wonderful Quilter's Forum in April where we learned more about leaders and enders, received handouts for "short cut" patterns, and talked about quilting with circles and circle-like patterns.  Thank you Bonnie and Wendy for your preparation and willingness to share.

Bonnie made several of these drawstring pouches and gave them away and showed us all how to make one for ourselves.  Quilter's Forum is so fun!
