February Show and Tell

Well, we had another wonderful group of quilts to see this month: Our first lady showing was Linda Rehart. She exhibited two beautiful quilts: the first was a block of the month with whites and pastels, quilted by Cindy Williams. The second was done in colorful blocks—which she discovered were sewn by her Father-in-law in his early 80’s. She added pictures of him in his sailor suit from the Navy, circa WWII. This was quilted by Kathy Carter

Quilt #3 was done by Patty Kiser. This was an Amish Quilt Pattern with a Christmas twist. She started it in 1989 in Elkart, Indiana. She completed it in 2015 in Provo, Utah.

#4 was a series of beautiful Pillow Covers, (4 of them) done by Carole Ellis. They were actually sized for a bench. She wanted to practice her quilting with smaller projects. Well done!

Elise Larson completed her lovely quilt called String of Beads. She did this in a class taught by Bonnie Miles. This was #5.

Next, Elise Larson showed her quilt called Country Stars. The class for this was taught by Linda from the Cedar Chest Quilt Guild. Great quilts!

Linda Williams showed an amazing quilt top she calls her “Revolutionary War”quilt . She found this Block of the Month pattern on a trip to Florida. This was No. 7. Number 8 was also by Linda Williams, titled “Vintage Garden”. She got this idea from a class from Quilts Etc. using Thirties Fabric, and Lemoyne Star blocks.

Blyth Larrabee exhibited a beautiful, bright quilt which she made from ‘bright, happy blocks’ exchanged with Quilting friends. Gorgeous!

Laurel Christensen showed her quilt featuring five blocks of flowers made with bleach discharge on black Kona Cotton with alternating blocks with hand appliqued birds and a border taken from another quilt design by Kim Diehl. Her second quilt is Zinnia Basket designed by Kim Diehl also.

Last but not least was a beautiful Red and Black quilt with blocks of quilted hearts….perfect for the month of February! This was done by Krysti Wright. She is an experienced long-arm quilter, and has just re-joined our Quilt Guild . So happy to have you with us!
