National Quilt Day Information

National Quilt Day will be Saturday, March 19th. New Friends Quilters will help ladies learn how to sew and make string blocks.
The theme of the day is "String Along With Me".  New Friends Quilters will be teaching variations of string blocks.
They will have a Soup and Salad Pot Luck. They are also doing this to help Project Linus with quilts for children to tie at the schools. They have asked the city of American Fork to help with getting people there but here is what you can do to help get ready for the National Quilt Day.
Go through your scraps of fabric. Cut strips no wider than 2 inches. They cannot be shorter than 6 inches. They can be 1 3/4 inch wide or 1 1/2 inch wide. When you cut your strips put them into a bag with one color variety (prints, values from light to dark) Do not cut any cheese cloth fabric. If they are thin fabrics we will sew the seam twice. Please no denim or heavy fabrics. The foundation of these strips will be sewn into a 7 1/2 inch square.
