November Show and Tell

"Baby Quilt" by Delma Baldridge - This darling baby quilt made in soft colors was made entirely from Delma's stash!  She practiced machine quilting on it and although she learned lots, she may never do it again!  Great job, Delma!

"Christmas Scraps" by Delma Baldridge - This sweet quilt in reds and greens, was a UFO that Delma started 4 years ago, finished this summer.  Lots of work, lots of leftover Christmas fabrics...
"Asian Flower Card" by Cheryl Pfeifer - This amazing quilt has green and orange log cabin blocks on one side and bamboo trees, and flower carts on the other.  Cheryl worked in some 'convergence' techniques and it turned out great!
"Girl Gang" by Wanda Sump - This is a gorgeous "girl gang" pattern by Jan Patek - modified by Wanda.  It is needle-turned applique and is full of pigeons, pumpkins, pineapples and more!  She modified it because it's supposed to be "Favorite Things" and "thistles" were not on Wanda's list!
"Sweet 16" by Wanda Sump - This stunning quilt was made for her daughter, Elissa.  It is a huge brown, pink and white quilt with an eye-catching needle-turned applique motif in the center - wow!
"Crosswords Mystery" by Michelle Hansen - This quilt was a mystery quilt at Quilt Fest one year.  It has Burgundy roses, and all sorts of fabrics that look amazingly good together! Good work!
"Silent Night 1 & 2" by Vonda Proctor - The first one, a small quilt has machine embroidered blocks alternated with plain blocks for a sister-in-law for Christmas.  Vonda liked it so well that she made a bigger, more detailed one for herself. The lyrics to Silent Night are in the machine embroidered blocks. Amazing!

"Use it Up" by Maureen Tuttle - This beautiful, multi-color (and blue) crazy quilt was made by Maureen's Grandmother who passed away 6 years ago at 93 years old.  She was the queen of "using it up" and used her scraps to make this quilt.  (Cotton, polyester, whatever).  She taught Maureen how to embroider  the edges on this quilt.  It's hand quilted and tied - 40 years old. Super!
"Log Cabin Star" by Gloria Hartley - This gorgeous quilt features a beautiful star in the middle, surrounded by log cabins in browns and pinks. For Gloria's granddaughter's wedding TOMORROW!!  Quilted by Corn Wagon.
"My Happy Quilts" by Suzanne Hillestad - These bright quilts just make Suzanne happy! (Me too!). 9-patch alternating with a square-in-square blocks with bright borders.  One goes to Primary Children's Medical Center (Suzanne donates one every year) and the other goes to her volunteer directors grandbaby.  Great job, Suzanne!

"Monkey Wrench" by Suzanne Hillestad - This beautiful quilt was made from Suzanne's scraps of civil war prints.  She saw this pattern in a magazine with very subdued colors, it seemed like a good way to use some of her civil war scraps, but she brightened it up - looks great with the rich colors!
"Frankenstein" by AnnaRae McAllister - This darling mini Frankenstein was made from a class AnnaRae took at Quilt Fest this year - so adorable!
"Monte and Becca Meet the Flying Dutchman" by AnnaRae McAllister - This fabulous quilt is made with the "flying dutchman" block in gold, navy, maroon, and green.  It is huge and entirely hand-quilted! Wow!
"Memories" by Wendy Liddle -  This treasure of a quilt is of Wendy's son, Andy, who passed away this last summer of cancer at 25 years of age.  It has pictures of Andy and his wife, set with log cabin blocks and is a wonderful memory of him.  Wendy said to make sure you make memory quilts, you never know what is coming up next.  We love you, Wendy!

"Over the River and Through the Woods" by LouAnn Wilde - This fun quilt is in black, tans, taupe and cream with beautiful embroidery (lots of it!) and fun flying geese border with star blocks too!  Great job, LouAnn, you speed quilter, you!

"Block of the Month" (Or Nightmare of the Month, depending) by Margaret Cooper - This blue sampler quilt was a block of the month with lots of borders - skinny and fat.  The gorgeous center applique block is an original design of Margaret's daughter and she has a copy of the pattern available for sale (801-850-6262).  Beautiful!

"Kaffe Fassett" by Melissa Clark - This beautiful quilt was a kit with Kaffe Fassett fabrics.  (The binding would have been done if Show and Tell had been at the end of the meeting today).  The back is her favorite with the gorgeous fabric.
Kaffe Fassett" by Melissa Clark - This beautiful quilt was a kit from Gracie Lou's, quilted at the Corn Wagon - dark roses and pinks - wow!
"Corn and Beans" by Melissa Clark - This fabulous quilt is also from a kit with a lovely vine appliqued all around the borders.
"French Rose" by Melissa Clark - This fun quilt is made with bright fabrics and a green border.  Usually this pattern is raw edge, but Melissa prefers regular applique - beautiful!
