January Show and Tell

"Round Robin Quilts" by the "Knotts" Quilt Bee - Each member started with a center block or medallion. Each month, the quilts were passed and the next member would add a border. It was amazing what people thought of. The quilts are all very unique and very beautiful - a very fun experience! This year, we're doing it again, but with "row quilts". Kathie Zobell - Gorgeous 30's fabric with Kona Snow background. Quilted by Kim Peterson. Brenda Sommers - A center of raw edge appliqued flowers, surrounded by fences, bugs and butterflies. AnnaRae McAllister - Cute house in the middle, surrounded by florals in maroons, golds, navy and greens. Kendra Hall - Pumpkins with lots of pretty fall colors. Kim Peterson - Reds and Golds with Blacks - pieced and appliqued. Marilyn Steele - Maroons, blues and beiges. English paper-pieced and "regular" pieced. Denise Austin - "One Must Learn to Love" - Black and gold, music themed fabric, high-lighted with teal. Embellished with beautiful Swarvoski crystals. Shirley Nielson - Mainly reds and greens. Shirley says "It got better as the other ladies added their borders". Kathy Porter - Feathered Star in the center. Jill Cox - Bright Bug Quilt.

"O My Gosh" by Kathie Zobell - This stunning quilt is made with a gazillion tiny little pieces, or as Kathie calls them, smidgens. It is made with Batiks and black - a fabulous combination! Kathie taught this class at Quilt Fest last year. Quilted by Kim Peterson.
"Sarah's Sampler" by Sarah Weaver - This beautiful quilt is made from sample blocks taught in a class by Terry Young in 2004. She is so happy that she is finally finished! There are rusts, yellows, greens, pinks and blues in this beauty!
"To GiGi, made with love" Delma Baldridge - This beautiful quilt made with "American Jane" fabrics in oranges, reds, blues and greens with yellow scraps was given to Delma at a family event. GiGi - is for "Great Grandma" and they all signed it. She is just tickled with this lovely quilt and so are we!
"Rosalie's Circle" by Saundra Cindrich - Saundra made this quilt all from her stash!! The appliqued circles are mostly batiks, on dark brown Kaffe Fasset fabric. Beautiful feathers quilted by Virginia Gore. Amazing, Saundra!
"Christmas Stockings" by Lisa Dunn - Lisa made all of these darling stockings with old sweaters! They are all so beautiful and so different! She had a great time making these! They are all lined. Great job, Lisa!

"9 Patch Slash", "Layer Cake & Red" & "Yellow Brick Road" by Janie Wallace - Janie had some quilts to make quickly, so she used Moda Layer Cakes! The "9 Patch Slash" is made with browns and reds with turquoise sashing. For the "Layer Cake & Red", she had a fun spring-y layer cake to which she added red, including some fabulous red ric-rac. Her "Yellow Brick Road" was a kit she won at the July Quilt Fair - she thought it was too monochromatic, so she threw in some black and white for interest. Gorgeous!

"Beige in Bloom" by Linda Roskelly - This quilt was very lonely being beige, until she added the gorgeous, appliqued flowers in bright colors! Machine quilting by Harrett Hargrave. Wow!
"Seminole" by Linda Roskelly - This fun, 30's quilt came from a kit from Gracie Lou's. She couldn't just do it the way it said, so she tweaked it to her liking - great job!
"Knee Replacement Quilt" by Linda Roskelly - Linda made this amazing quilt from scraps. She says it just grew on its own! Pieced by hand while waiting in the hospital during her last knee replacement. You are amazing, Linda!
"Beanie Babies Chess" & "Pumpkins Gone Wild" by Deonn Stott - these fun quilts were made by Deonn's daughter and quilted by her. Fun Minkey and pumpkin fabrics. Deonn also made a great purse!

"Over the River and Through the Woods" by Ruth Caye - This lovely quilt is made with black and beige fabrics with beautiful flying geese and star blocks. She made this with her neighborhood quilt group. Quilted with music notes and fun stuff throughout!
"Anthropology" by Marilyn Mclueen (sorry if the spelling is wrong) - Maryilyn made this gorgeous quilt in all colors with fun circles and more. She hand-quilted this stunning quilt! Way to go, Marilyn!
"Gavin's Quilt" by Janet Carpenter - Beautiful Log Cabin star pattern in browns from Judy Martin's book. Janet made beautiful, original, fairy applique's in the stars of the log cabins - amazing!
"Baby Quilts!" by Sharon Wright - Sharon has been blessed with her first grandbaby this month! These beautiful pink baby quilts will be treasured, I'm sure. There are darling appliqued hummingbirds on one of them! Congratulations, Sharon!

"Radiating 9 Patch" by Carolyn Cragun - This gorgeous King-sized 9 patch quilt radiates from lights to darks. This is a pattern by Blanche Young. Carolyn started this quilt 20 years ago! Her husband made her a design board. Machine quilted by Peggy Cameron.
"Book of Mormon Stories" by Carolyn Cragun - This amazing quilt is made with twelve 16" panels. Pattern by Jane Bodner, although Carolyn made quite a few changes. She made 3 of these beauties for Christmas! She thought once she had made one, the other two would go faster - not so. Machine quilted by Carole Ferguson. Wow!
"Stephen's Baby Quilt" by Liz Laney - This beautiful Texas Star is done in Civil War fabrics. Stephen is Liz' oldest grandson and he was 17 when he got his Eagle Scout Award. Thus the fabulous appliqued eagles in the borders. Apparently he procrastinates as much as his grandmother - she finally got this quilt done - he leaves on a mission next Wednesday! Way to go, Liz!
