November Show and Tell

Ella Lung presented her original design of half-square triangles out of modern fabrics against a gray background. She designed this quilt at a retreat with the Utah County Modern Quilt Guild:

Bonnie Miles completed her "10 Year Wild Flowers" quilt with appliqued flowers. She put it aside between processes, but finally finished it!

Wanda Sump showed two quilts, "Jacob's Eagle" a Fons and Porter pattern that was made for her son's upcoming Eagle Scout Award. He completed his Eagle project and Wanda completed the quilt! She also including his scouting scarves on the back!  The "Baby Quilt" is from 'No Sew, Pie to Go #3' It incorporates a new technique to teach children how to quilt including drawing lines, using 5" squares, gluing with Elmer's School Glue and sewing 1/4" lines.
Maggie Barber jumped on the quilting bandwagon straight into paper-piecing! She designed a paper-pieced table runner pattern evoking pine trees and falling snow in the winter.

Linda Roskelley completed "Honeymoon at the Cabin" from Eleanor Burns 'Bear in the Woods' pattern. It is for her Grandson's wedding! She 'tweaked' the pattern by putting a heart in the star!

Kathie Carter came to us from Wyoming. She presented two quilts; one is paisley done in blues and golds, the other is a Jinny Beyer pattern in jewel tones - stunning! She received an Honorable Mention in Traditional Applique and a 2nd Place in Mixed Techniques at the show in Paducah!

Kathleen Baer showed some great art quilts! A Christmas Place mat using #12 sulky, a summer piece using Sharon Wright's technique for adding letters, Thread Play and Autumn. She also used a 'ripped' raw edge binding.
Thanks, ladies!!!
