Philippa Naylor March International Teacher Guest

Phillipa came to us from England and was such a delight to listen to. She entertained us with many interesting stories of her life in England as well as the 15 years she spent in Saudi Arabia. She is a  renowned quilter who has won many awards at national quilt competitions here in the U.S. as well as world wide. She teaches all over the world and had many exciting techniques to show us.

Philippa taught her curved piecing method to 20 ladies who signed up for her all day class held Tuesday.

Everyone in the class really appreciated her expert instruction and hands on approach.

On Wednesday a few of the people from the class showed the guild there class projects.

Philippa brought with her two of her famous quilts and we loved the chance
for a close up look at her work. Her whole cloth quilt called Flower Power features her unique embroidered trapunto quilting. She quilts all her quilts on her domestic sewing machine.

Philippa brought many excellent visual aids of sample of her many embellishing and applique techniques.

Philippa also brought her latest quilt Bird by Bird which features her fabulous applique talents and some very interesting piping and rouleau trim.

Philippa has written two books Quilting in the Limelight and Applique Mastery. They are published by Dragon Threads here in the U.S. You can find out more at her website philippanaylor.com. Watch for more of her work at Houston and Paducah in the future.
