January Show and Tell
January 2015 SHOW & TELL (Leslie Oldham) We started off the year with a wonderful day of Forum and a Trunk Show, and Show and Tell did not disappoint at the end of the day. It was short, but sweet, with BONNIE MILES being first to show her Civil War quilt made of Reproduction Fabrics. Her pattern was the Dresden Plate; and the effect was beautiful.
Next was MAUREEN TUTTLE showing her “Who Doesn’t Love the Grinch?”. She used a Grinch panel, cut apart and reassembled with Grinch-green Minky for the back —Super Snuggly!
KARIN CRAWFORD was third, with her “Words to Live By.” This is how she described it: Hand appliqué, Wool on Cotton; words are machine embroidered, and machine pieced. It was machine quilted by LaReesa Baldwin. Beautiful!
PEGGY NARHUMENTI : Her beautiful quilt was called “Cottage Garden”. It was a Jeana Kimball pattern; done with 1930’s fabric; and the back fabric from the same source. Thanks Peggy, for a job well-done.
NANCY LEACH was next, with her creative Jackson Pollock Knockoff. Here is something you can do with friends and neighbors—have a paint -throwing party—We have the most creative women in our group! Thanks Nancy!
KATHI CARTER was next with her four quilts/quilt top)! Her descriptions: l)Fire Island Hosta—Blues and Purple; 2) Paradise in Bloom (done in Riley Blake fabrics); 3) Paradise in Bloom (purples); and 4) Bali Wedding Star—done in multi-colors. Kathi has won many honors for her quilts—and is such an inspiration with all of them.
Number Seven was PATTI KISER. She displayed her Challenge Project. (Look out the Window,….etc.) She says, “The inspiration was a tree my Husband planted in our back yard, because that’s what I saw when I looked out the window.” Patti, thanks for bringing this beautiful project.
This month we had 4 new members join us. Here is Kris Day of Mapleton
and Kathy Bensen and Kim Ashby both of Orem also joining was Peggy Johns (picture not available)
