May Show and Tell

Here is the show and tell for this May.
Thanks to Brenda Sommers for doing the Show and Tell write ups every month!
"Buggy Barn Quilt - Big & Little" by Gloria Hartley - These darling quilts were a Maple Mountain block exchange.  There are lots of fun blocks, including tractors with great, wool wheels!  She made one for herself and is donating the other one to the auction!! Thanks, Gloria - they are super!
"Bunny Rabbit Quilt" by Gloria Hartley - This darling quilt features cute bunnies with 3-dimensional floppy ears.  Gloria can't actually remember buying the border fabric - perhaps she was in a shopping daze at a Shop Hop?  Way to go, Gloria!

"Lincoln Quilt" -by Gloria Hartley - Gloria finished her Lincoln Quilt which was the block of the month for UVQG last year! It is wonderful! She said it was really fun to fit all of the blocks together.
"Irish Chain" by Linda Roskelly - A beautiful quilt that she made from the "Big Book of Scrap Quilts".  She used 2 1/2" blocks, because that was the size she had already cut out.  This quilt is made from 30's fabrics and for the first time, Linda marked flowers into the white spaces and machine quilted them - she is proud of herself and so are we! Way to go, Linda!
"My Irish Grandma Sue" -by Janice Walker - Janice loves 30's fabrics and made this from her stash.  Her grandmother is from Ireland and she made this quilt for her 21st grandchild!  She added the pieced border to this quilt of "Sunbonnet Sue's" and "Grandmother's Fan" blocks. Great job!
"My Favorite Things" by Diana Hess -  This is a Jan Patek applique pattern - definitely out of Diana's comfort zone - It's a little country and a little primitive.  Since it was called "My favorite things", she had to remove some designs that weren't her favorites and add some that were.  Great job!
By Marlene Cook - This stunning quilt is a Peggy Waltman pattern.  It is white with circles of yellow, red and green.  She appliqued the beautiful borders and it took her MONTHS!  Wow!
"Peach & Green" by Liz Teerlink - Another fun quilt for a granddaughter, she made it from the leftovers from the 1st baby quilt she made her, since it is getting too small for her, but she doesn't want to give it up.  This one is just the right size.  Yellow Brick Road pattern.  More cute bias binding.  Also a matching pillow case.  Way to go, Liz!
"Dots, Checks & Strips, Oh My" by Liz Teerlink - This darling quilt is Liz's original design.  She made it in pinks and browns for a new granddaughter.  The large pink rick-rack makes it even cuter!  She made a matching pillow case too!

"Playtime" by Lil Anderson - This great quilt is made from American Jane fabrics. It is a 'reading quilt' for a lucky grandson who will be 4 years old next week!  She loves this fabric and started this quilt two years ago (I love the fabric too!) - way to get it finished, Lil!
By Lil Anderson - This is a very busy, scrappy (and gorgeous) quilt made with all civil war reproduction fabrics.  She used all of the fabrics in the line.  She wanted to see how many scraps she could use up, but she was not very successful in decreasing her fabric supply. (oh, well).  Quilted by Holly Williams at Elaine's in SLC.
"Wedding Ring" -Delma Baldridge - We are all very jealous of Delma who bought this beautiful, antique quilt at an antique shop for $100!!! It is a double wedding ring pattern, with 'random' quilting designs in it (by hand).  It is queen size and now graces her bed. Lucky!!
"Quilt Soup Block of the Month" by Barbara Ostler - This fun, bright quilt was a block of the month by Barbara Jones at Quilt Soup.  Barbara made it with a friend and they tweaked it make it their own.  Great job!
