November meeting part two

We have 6 new members this month. Pictured above is Debra Thacker. Also joining us are Kay Johnson, Peggy Peterson, Wendy Jones, Debra Shelley, and Lorinda Loveridge

This year Wanda Sump entertained us with her mystery mini quilt. Suzanne Hillestad, Joanne Sitos, Jodie Banks, Merlene Crapo, Maureen Tuttle , Barbara Murdock and Wanda Sump show off they finished cute quilts.

Bonnie Miles gave a demonstrative and lecture about how to put together orphan blocks to make fun sampler quilts. As always Bonnie had lots of great ideas.

Show and Tell

First was Debbie Naylor who showed a Thanksgiving quilt called Crabapple.

Second was Lynnette Rose whose quilt was called Candy Kisses for Sadie. Lynnette appliqued and quilted her piece and she is donating it to Festival of Trees in the memory of her granddaughter, Sadie.

Next was Maureen Tuttle who showed three pieces. One was a wedding picnic quilt made for her nephew and his new wife. Also made by Mary Killpack-Girls Pinterest Day. Then she showed a mystery beach wall hanging from the 2015 quilt retreat. Finally she made a Festival of Trees snowball quilt from fabric donated by Riley Blake.

Fourth up was Francine Berrett who showed her version of a Trip Around the World quilt made in red, green, gold, turquoise and brown.

Sisters Ina Tedrow and Cleo Cox show their wonderful red and white quilts they made together,

Up sixth was Margaret Gray showing her Seminole Sampler quilt. At a 2013 quilt camp she took the Seminole piecing class ad this quilt was the result. She is giving it to her son who helped with the fabric selection.

Our seventh presenter was Machelle Preston who showed a tractor quilt, a once upon a fairy tale quilt, and a princess quilt.

November Meeting part one It's all about the Red !

This years Challenge was to make a red and white quilt for our November meeting. It was a real success with over 50 quilters joining in. Viewers choice was voted on at the meeting. Nancy Roberts' stunning quilt was the winner and she will be our entry in the Ruby Jubilee show for the Utah Quilt Guild next year. Congratulations to her as well as Helen Butler 2rd place, Sharon Wright 3rd place and a tie between Kathy Porter and Linda Williams for 4th place.

The following pictures are of the rest of the quilts made by our guild members. Names will be added to this blog post as they become available. My apologies if any quilts were missed. I gave it my best effort to get a picture of every quilt but it got so crazy just before the meeting began and it was hard to make sure I wasn't missing any as many last minute arrivals were being hung up.
